ALI AL SALEM AIRBASE (Kuwait) -- A US colonel in charge
of the Patriot battery that shot down a British Tornado jet in the
belief that it was an Iraqi missile has apologised for the blunder
that killed two, amid assurances that it will not happen
again.
The US Patriot SAM commander says that his Patriot system
identified RAF Tornado aircraft as a Iraqi missile.
Patriot systems still have major technical / software problems
