FOX News Flash reported that Senior Republican Guard Leadership, at
the southern city of Basra, has offered to surrender.
Meanwhile, at 01:00hrs ground forces have been reported to be
rolling into Iraq, with artillery duels occurring during the move
towards the southern Iraqi Port City of Basra.
At this moment, 02:30hrs, UK forces are reported to be inside the
city of BASRA, and securing the oil fields to the north of the
city.
Intensive aerial bombings are going on in Baghdad, but the civil
infrastructures are not targetted, so as not to worsen the plight
of the Iraqi, and to win their support for their own liberation by
the US-UK forces.
However, infrastructure that has dual use and are deemed important
for the Iraqi military, are systemetically targetted and being
destroyed.
If the reported Republican Guard Leadership surrender is correct,
then the strategy of using both psychological and military
pressures to impress the Iraqi Military and Civilians to revolt
against Sadam may soon shorten this Second Iraqi War.
