Anyone still not sure where is the nearest emergency escape route(s) in your building?

it's good to familarise them. they will come in handy someday.

know where emergency exit but nt sure if the door lock still works.

they do check annually...

but to get the door open, pls email the property department and HR department, give us a valid reason, we will bring this up durin the monthly meeting, if the big boss aprroves...we will then reply u in email...then u can come and get the key from us...

oh...yes, btw, the HR boss is on business trip, and will only return late next week...

emergency escape doors are only locked from outside. pple can open from inside (the disaster area) for escape purpose.

companies and firms will hav lots of saftey regulayions, procedures blah blah but wen the real thing happen the following basic rules and stuff applies

1) do not panick

2) the young, elderly, ill and/ or disable should have the priority to proceed to a safety zone and access to safety or rescue equipment for evacuation first

3) use the appropriate fighting equipment against the type of disaster/ accident or methods to stay alive

4) company security, health hazardouse department and facility departments should listen with open heart and ears to any feedbacks or suggestions with regards to situation handling and improvements/ modifications to their current regualtions in placed

one thing about 911 that i think many lives could have been saved if they have parachutes (i know this sounds silly) on every floor of the skyscrapers and the employees in the building should be taught how to use them

there are also regular emergency evacuation drills conducted twice a year (a statuatory requirement) for building occupants to familarise with the escape routes.

toilets orso got...wen emergency i go girls toilets...wen they ask me i will tell them emergency need to escape...they say use escape route i tell them stand in the toilet bowl and pull the flush...there u go the fastest safest escape route to the sewer Mr. Green
