It is the Sari you are mentioning to. Yes it is the traditional
dress of women in India. Not the younger generation. But after
marriage they switch over to the Sari. In certain parts of India
the dress style changes. The Sari is worn by almost all Indian's
irrespective of Religion. Nowadays with the advent of stringent
Islamic beliefs, some of the Muslim women are wearing the
Burqa.
