Tan: Executed gangland-style at a public park
From the passport recovered on him, we found that he entered
Malaysia almost every month. We are checking with our Singaporean
counterpart on Tans background and activities, he said.
According to an investigating officer, Tans wife Lee Wai Fun, 29,
is a local who works as a secretary at a machinery factory in
Bandar Sunway. The couple has a son.
Lee last met her husband for lunch on Tuesday. Tan then dropped her
off at her office and told her that he would be heading for
work.
When she reached home, Lee called her husband on his handphone, and
was told not to disturb him as he had work to do.
At 1am, she called him again but his phone was switched off.
At 8.30am yesterday, police officers called on Lee to tell her
about her husband.
A 45-year-old businessman whose house fronted the park said a group
of men frequently gathered at the spot where Tan was shot dead.
They were always making noise. Last night (Tuesday), the noisy
group was there again.
Police are looking for the owner of the BMW loaned to Tan.
We are also appealing to residents or anyone who may have heard
gunshots to contact the police, said SAC Hadi Ho.
