Xcert SG ya lor...I also think being aide-de-camp is boring...nothing more than being a secretary with an official title. being bodyguard is more interesting...but have to keep the fitness level there.
Theballstopshere SG My friend's hubby is one of them. I speak to him whenever I want to. Aides-de-Camp are defo not foreigners. So too personal bodyguards. It is ridiculous to hire personal bodyguards from overseas. A lot of background checks need to be done. I repeat - only Gurkhas are foreigners.
pwnz0r SG This should clarify about the aide-de-camps http://www.istana.gov.sg/adc.html http://www.istana.gov.sg/adc2.html So there are only 2 at any one time.
Theballstopshere SG Yeah, MM too. They and their ridiculous titles. PM, SM, MM. What are we going to have next? Chief Master Jedi? Hell, think couple of them should just retire for good than hang on to their posts and create nonsensical-sounding titles.
mhcampboy SG i was at a construction of my friends company along oxley road there. so we got this huge cranes on the road. its not obstructing traffic though. but in less than an hour....MM bodyguards came along and tell us to disperse the cranes somewhere else... reason being.... the road leads to the MM house and its an eye sore if the MM were to see the cranes there. hahha ...
lwflee SG Actually, I think their value is in having no ties to Singapore. So where local people would hesitate to take action on fellow citizens, these people have so such issues.
life2121 SG doesn't he know that e cranes r needed for building things? if eyesore 2 him den no need build liao lor?
Jerina SG Haha...this topic reminds me of something. I was in the same tutorial class with Lee Hsien Loong's son last year and he always had different bodyguards around with him at different times. We gals find one of them darn cute Oh anywayz.
Ponders SG There can be only 2 ADCs to the president at any one time... but there is a team of about 18-20 ADCs that rotates and represent the president for events that the president is not required to be present. e.g. a foreign diginitary visits singapore on a personal non-state basis. (they are on holiday or fuel stop at changi) the ADC will be there as a courtesy and guide to that dignitary.
