What to check when taking delivery of car

I will be taking delivery of my new car soon and need advice on what items/areas to check. Actually, brought the issue with my SE when making the final documentation yesterday and she non chalantly said just check where you want to check!!!!

What abt the interior.
do i hv to check for leakage, wat is the acceptable range of mileage?

buying a car soon...

i know with 2nd hand cars, check by driving, the feel of the car will tell you the health of the car, especially the engine..

but then, how about new cars? usually, the engine would feel okay and the rest of the things too.. how would one know they received a friday job?

If its a second hand car,
1) Spare tyre
2) Tools to change spare tyre
3) User manual
These three is a must. Bcoz the above stuff are not replacable.

Others to look out for,
4) Radio set working
5) Antenna working

I think that forum is talking about those Big Big car dealers, or at least the honest ones. Since the cheapo one I deal with doesn't provide those things, I don't know about the list too. Only read from forum.

Anyway, mine definitely fail that list, my SE didn't even check the car before I collect it. Scratches here and there, on the glasses too. Rims got chip off, say machining mark, cannot avoid one. What crap.

Tell you, got problem don't drive your car out. The SE will tell you to take the car first, then can come back another day to fit. Once you drive out, the problems become your problems.

Let's not be sexist here. Let's face it, most SE/or whoever is there when you collect the car, will want you to just take and go. Want to avoid these guys? Buy expensive car from customer-oriented dealers, or buy from a VERY reliable brand.

Bottomline, you have to be strict about your collection and not let you eargerness of gettting the car over-whelm you. Bring a friend/brother along, they help a lot as they are more calm.
