Road to maturity
stardusz thinks living on one's own and away from one's parents
will make a person more mature and responsible.
Such a person, she says, will learn to manage his money better and
become more resourceful.
eviltrap agrees, saying that before she moved out, she depended on
her parents for everything. Being on her own has taught her that
money is not easy to come by.
alvinaloy, however, writes: 'Living on your own is just one of the
ways to maturity.' He feels that if a person is not mature, living
on his own may not necessarily make him so.

The age of civility
alfseeto says that, contrary to popular belief, young Singaporeans
are not rude.
While eating at a Tiong Bahru hawker centre, he observed that many
young Singaporeans acknowledged an old tissue seller politely or
bought packets from him. He said older Singaporeans at the hawker
centre, however, were very cold towards the tissue seller.
chryzh35, however, writes: 'I don't think age is a factor in a
person's attitude towards fellow beings. Our society in general is
rude and selfish, always chasing the dollar and most times at all
costs.'
He adds: 'This competitiveness has got to do with the fact that we
are a young and small nation and we need to be aggressive in all
areas of economics.'
