Red Light camera

Hi all,

Need to seek advice from the experts out there. I was travelling on a 3 lane road and about to do a right U turn. But the silly green arrow suddenly blinks and disappears just as I reach the junction. May I know if I will be caught as I heard that travelling on the right turning lane will not trigger the loop below below. Didnt have time to notice the flash but as I complete the turn I notice some light behind me. Hope it wasnt the camera. Any ideas?

if i'm not wrong, i think the red light camera do not go off within about 1 seconds after the lights turn red.

this is to allow time for those vehicles that are already very close to the line and it would be more dangerous if the driver applies the brakes very suddenly.

anyway, you can notice that when the lights turn red, the other set do not turn green immediately, it'll change colour in about 1-2 seconds later.

hope i'm not wrong, as for the light you see, could be the reflection from another car (if you're travelling in the day)

Hi whether is 1 or 2 secs I really not sure, but the thing i more interested in is whether the right lane is the “safe lane”, whats more the camera need to capture twice to prove u dash across the traffic, as I U turning, they shldnt caught me rite?

dun worry my frene who is the traffic police told me that the bad point of the red light camera now is that it cant capture vehicle turning right only can capture those that beat the light going straight..

aKO are u sure, then its really a relief for me coz the right turning arrow just blink 3 or 4 times and gone, whereas we gotta slow down at junctions in order to make a u turn, how to make it… anyway hope ur info is true and updated. Thks

I think ur traffic police friend is only partially correct.
For those old red line camera, correct to say that it cannot capture right turn at right lane, but not true for the new one. The new one can capture right turn..

But I still think you are safe,assuming the right turn arrow only blinks, and does not stay constant for reasonable time.
This happens because the sensor does not detect any car at right lane for sometime, hence only blink upon straight green light turn amber.

Hi, yah I think shld be safe coz I was u-turning, if it was a right turn there may b a chance of getting caught, but u – turn at the most they capture ur first image, second one already turn right so wont be able to take it. They need to take 2 fotos before they will summon u.

my friend say if u beat a red light,and it flash.. jam brake and reverse back..
so it cant take the 2nd flash.. need 2 photo to summon you.

yesterday i was at the juntion waiting for the green arrow so i can make a right turn.
but knn... the green arrow time very fast. the moment it turn green arrow, it immediately start blinking. blink for 3 times only it turns red!

what is this man? so fast mind as well dun turn green arrow lah...

Thats the reason I was caught, it suddenly just blink and I need to slow down to make a U-turn of coz cannot make it. But I think from all the feedbacks I gotten, its more or less safe to assume I wasnt caught at the turning lane, whats more I was doing a u-turn, surely they only caught me once on the camera tats all. On the safe side, I will still call in to TP tomorrow to double check and will surely appeal if they summon me.

strange.. yesterday i was driving and come to a stop at traffic light before it turn red.. cos got red-light camera.. then i saw this car zoom pass the red light and i didnt noticed any flash.. dont tell me this camera is fake? or dun flash anymore?

Imagine one whole long queue of cars waiting for a right turn arrow that starts blinking the moment it appears and disappears before anybody can has a chance to turn.. Mad

think there will be like 1-2 seconds before the camera activate. who noes also some of the camera might be fake... who dares try?

the flash u see might be pple high-beaming u la…do not worry as red-light camera dun capture u-turn one..

not say very sure la...but the thing is tt from wat i understand, red light camera works by when a car speed thru the red lights, the enging heat will activate the sensor underground and capture the pix. and the sensor is like somewhere in the middle of the road...so u-turn shld be safe la...
