ETboy SG

dpuble post

Itachi SG

which one..? DMD or Industrial one..? tell me more leh..

ETboy SG

DMD Lo... spercialise in IM (interactive media design)

if u are thinking of doing visual com doing print design.. go TP. animation wise.. i think TP and NYP almost the same.. i dunno wad TP does in animation. but dip in moving images the name a bit odd ( no offence ) should just put dip in animation the rest i dunno abt TP.

lifestyle wise... TP Sch of design like heaven to them they can do wad ever they wan. i heard from fren there, he said the design student there can jump abt run abt the sch no 1 cares like paradise i find. for us we all are like very normal lo...

for our sch if u are in animation u are like the gem to the directors very precious everything also get the best... for other sepcialisation like dun care kind

wad else u wan to knw ?

Itachi SG

do u actually get to choose ur own specialisation? or they put u in one? if let’s say they were to put u accordingly into the different specialisation, what do they look at?

ETboy SG

u choose. but of coz the better student got the higher chance of a place la as usual.

the specialisation is games design , IM , Animation and DFV but i think no more DFV .

Itachi SG

oh yah.. one more thing.. each year the intake is 260 students for DMD rite.. then how they split into the different specialisation ah.. like, for certain specialisation they take in how many students lidat..

ETboy SG

40% ani 20% games 20% IM and 20% DFV tat was my time coz my time lesser student. and now should be changed also coz no more DFV specilisation but the ratio should be ard the same just split the 20% of the DFV equally into the 3

Itachi SG

die ah lidat.. coz i tink i oni interested in the animation thingy.. i dun like programming and web design thingy.. not realli interested in games either.. lol..

ETboy SG

IM are not really abt web it’s beyond web. however u good at drawing ?

Itachi SG

drawing ah.. okok lo.. i wun say im gd.. but shld be slightly above average la. got some drawing experience while doing my D&T folio. but i realise that i can only sketch things that are dead.. as in furniture and stuff.. i can't draw things like different expression on human faces.. Embarassed why..?

ETboy SG

D&T are like isometric drawing ?1stly u will learn perspective drawing , gesture , facial drawing and some other thing i cannot rember , in year 1

if ur drawing gd chances are u can get in la.. but den animation is always draw and draw and draw but also got other stuff la.. 1 sec is like 24 frames... u imagine 30 sec how many frames u need to draw

Itachi SG

yah.. Isometric and Perspective drawing are required for DNT..

hmm, so do u like what u r studying..? any regrets so far? haha..

Itachi SG

woah ka*[email protected]#$%na.. means must keep redrawing lidat meh..?

ETboy SG

u dunn how animation works meh ? unless u doing 3D den diff story la . 1 thing good is we got MOcap studio which i think SG only got like 2 palce and my lec say 1 of it close down liao and left our sch

Itachi SG

what's that?

ETboy SG

u knw lotr the smigle ( dunno how to spell ) the 1 tat keep saying ” my precious….” u knw he is actually not a human in costume rite they got thiis person to act out the movement den they skin the person digitally to look like smigle… motiion capture it is called… mostly 3D where u wear this suit with alot of balls den u move they capture u with 8 cameras den make it to like 3D

Itachi SG

upz!

minimalis SG

Industrial Design.. TP definitely.. most of my classmates landed meaty jobs at well-known design firms like Lawton & Yeo, X-Tra, Creative Technologies, Philips after graduation. There is market value for TP ID grads. Every design student gets his own studio space.. own desk, own cupboards, own drafting desk.

Itachi SG

cool.. tell me more about the course~~~ how ixxit like.. fun anot.. lolx Mr. Green

Itachi SG

Anymore ppl from design sch?
