I find all the complaints about stressfull driving stupid.
It is very easy to make driving pleasant again.
When I was in Los Angeles, I was driving a 3000 cc car around the
neighbourhood at an average speed of 50kmph. It was a pleasant
experience.
You have time to look, to stop, to wave thankyou, you can recognise
people walking, give way, it was so pleasant because all the other
drivers are also cruising slowly. Only on the expressway and main
throughfare are the speed increased.
The Traffic Police should strictly enforce the 50 kmph speed limit
in built-up areas, and as the default speed limit.
For expressways the posted speed limits apply.
Its ridiculous that we should speed from one light controlled
junction to the other at speeds in excess of 80 kmph in housing
estates, and then complain that driving in Singapore is so
stressful.
We have better cars, and therefore want to go faster and faster,
and even faster.
We are stressing ourselves out.
Go slow, and have the time to be courteous, and to wave and smile
