i've been in a Supra TT and it was a life changing experience

this car is being featured in this month's HOTstuff magazine. it has 800bhp.

i donno anything about modifications and stuff but how come it is road legal? i donno if the parts are legal or not.. but even within the legal modification range in singapore, is it possible to tune a 320bhp way up to 800bhp?

this supra is for sale too.. any idea how much its gonna cost?

Yes, Supra can go up to 1000+ bhp, and most of the time still using stock engine!

Usually its bored up to 3.2litre and strengthened... using extremely big turbos, like maybe T88H, can reach 1000+ bhp. Skylines are similar, using the stock RB26DETT, can reach high horsepower. But mostly they are bored up 200-400 ml more.

it says " top speed 320kmh. limited by it's stock transmission"

there is more to speed than just bhp.
a McLaren F1 would need 'just' 370bhp if the designers wanted a top speed of 320km/h for it.

using the bhp : speed relational equation, assuming all else equal(esp since it's running a stock transmission) I calculated that the unlimited top speed is about 340km/h, using the following specifications TAKEN from www.supercars.net:

stock bhp: 320bhp
top speed: 250km/h

lol. well i just did the calculations. it's only another 20km/h more. A McLaren F1with "only" 444bhp will easily be as fast as a 800bhp Supra.

lets put this into perspective. a McLaren F1 with slightly over half the power of a 800bhp supra would easily be as fast as the Supra. Why? This is a very good example of how a car's speed is not solely dependent on power.

er... actually how fast u reach top speed is acceleration. and acceleration is determined by torque.
top speed is partially determined by 3 things:

bhp

tyre rolling resistance which depends on resistance coefficient, weight of the car, and to a certain extent, the speed at which the car is at.

aerodynamic drag which depends on the frontal area of the car, the drag coefficient of the car and the square of the speed which the car is at.
