Actually I also kana once. Was almost crossing the zebra
crossing. It was 1 meter away from me. I saw a car coming at high
speed, I still cross. That guy have to jam brake beside me. Put out
his hand, give me the "don't want your life" look. I just point
down.
Maybe last time long hair, look a little beng, everyone think I
trying to make trouble. Would do the same thing again if have the
chance, cause I know how scare it could be to be the driver.
Imagine knocking someone over near a crossing. Can say bye bye to
license. Also the E-brake thing feels like shit. 
Anyway, driving now, would/should slow down when approaching the
crossing. So no excuse not seeing them.
