shade343 SG I noticed that the recent trend for certain mods in sgforums is to close topics on certain subjects and refer them to the relevant forums. Although I do not find anything wrong with that, I must say that it greatly inconveniences the threadstarter. People post in chit chat and the popular forums because such anchor forums receives a substantially higher amount of viewership as compared to the other relevant forums. This means that the chances of getting a response is higher for the threadstarter. Secondly, the relevant forum may have already gone into a state of decadence and posting in such forums merely serves as a waste of server space. Since chit chat is supposedly for anything under the sun, why not allow threadstarters the freedom to post whatever they want there? It would certainly be a boon to threadstarters for them to leverage on the chit chat forums viewership and activity ratings.
ditzy SG And have the thread filled with stupid useless replies like:"why isn't this in Bar?", "Why isn't this in AA?", "Why post here?", "Wrong forum." No way.
photo_seeker SG If you ever moderate a forum before, you will know this is call better house keeping.
shade343 SG But in chit chat forums, you hardly see people making such statements as it is a forum for anything and everything.
finoq SG only for the most popular forums that make it to about the top half page of the ‘All Forums’ page. That’s why they have different forums anyway.
photo_seeker SG Like I've said, it's house-keeping to prevent Chit Chat section being flooded with topics that's should be originallly posted in AA, Food, Car, Bar, etc. The other forums will hence be inactive due to topics not properly posted.
