SINGAPORE : The man suspected of shooting a nightclub owner to
death in a HDB flat in Serangoon earlier this month has been
arrested in Kuala Lumpur.
According to sources in Malaysia, Tan Chor Jin was caught by
Malaysian authorities in a hotel room at about 4am on Saturday
following a tip-off.
Two other men were arrested along with him -- one of them is a
Singaporean believed to have been involved in another murder at a
Yishun coffeeshop, and the other is a Malaysian.
Six guns and two kilogrammes of Ice, the synthetic drug, were found
on them.
The arrests took place in two rooms at a hotel along Jalan Bukit
Bintang, in the heart of the Malaysian city.
Singapore police are now working with their Malaysian counterparts
to bring Tan back to Singapore to face murder charges, sources in
Malaysia said.
In the 15 February shooting, 41-year-old Lim Hock Soon was shot
point-blank five times, once in the forehead and four times in the
body, after a gunman forced his way into his home just as Lim's
daughter was about to leave for school at about 7am.
The killing was believed to have been triggered off by money
disputes.
Tan, who is blind in one eye, and an accomplice were said to have
fled the country immediately after the shooting. - CNA
