hello pples..i read liao and couldnt resist butting in.
actually that cubby guy got a point lah..non conti cars tend to
overrate their specs on paper a little. If you take a new conti and
non conti car and dyno their specs and comapre to their original
paper specs, you will see why.
the Vios is supposed to have an engine output of 109 bhp( or
somewhere there i think) but the transmission lost makes it about
80 bhp at the wheel. That is nearly a 20% loss. While for cars like
the CooperS, dynoed figures compared to paper stats reflects only
about a 5% loss.
Naturally pple woould assume the big difference in the loss figures
could only result from manufacturers over-rating their cars.
well, dun despair fellow non conti car owners...my engine rates a
130bhp but i dynoed out only at 100 at the wheel..i am pretty sad
too..sob.
i think cubby just cant believe paper stats and would want the
actual timing of a Getz taken with a RSM i guess. As for me, i take
a paper stats with a pinch of salt. esp timings like 0 -
100...there areother factors to include too (like drivers skill in
chainging gears) so there is no need to get too specific about
it.
Having said so much...there is still a hearing that i heard that i
wish to verify. How is the FC of the Getz like?
