A DISGRUNTLED bus driver went on a road rampage last Saturday in
Shenzhen, China.
In the wake of his murderous trail were five people dead, more than
60 injured and about 40 cars damaged, reported Sin Chew
Daily.
And all because bus driver Liu Cheng An was unhappy with certain
work arrangements.
It all started at about 2pm when the regular driver of Bus 67, who
is in his 40s, returned to work on his day off,
Liu got into a quarrel with his supervisor, pulled out a knife and
allegedly stabbed his boss.
Then the rampage began.
Liu leapt onto a nearby bus.
He then pointed his knife at the driver and passengers and ordered
them to get off the bus.
5KM TERROR DRIVE
Liu took over the wheel and sped out of the Nan Shan bus depot,
driving like a madman.
The bus company workers quickly alerted the police. Many police
officers were deployed to set up road blocks.
Meanwhile, Liu was careening down the road, recklessly swerving
left and right.
He crashed through multiple police barriers and rammed into police
cars.
For 5km, he terrorised pedestrians and motorists alike.
He drove straight into any person and any vehicle he could
see.
Three of the people Liu hit died on the spot.
They included were a female cleaner from Hu Nan and a male
cyclist.
The bus finally stopped at Chang Yuan village.
Liu then tried to kill himself with his knife, but failed.
When he was arrested, he had serious injuries from his suicide
attempt.
He was sent to Nan Shan hospital for emergency treatment.
Police officers stood guard outside his hospital room.
More than 30 injured people were hospitalised for treatment.
Two of them died in hospital on Saturday night, bringing the death
toll to five.
