The chap who started the thread wanted suggestions before he
went for another race. Here are some of them.
"I find if you're driving a kart with rear brakes only, you can
apply the brake slightly coming out of a corner. It's like a manual
form of traction control just like the extra rear brake pedal
fitted to the 1997 McLaren. It cuts down the wheelspin on the exit
and will improve acceleration."
"Places where you have understeer, especially tight hairpins, you
should try throwing your weight around and stepping the rear end
out. It keeps the engine reved and maintains momentem."
"dont let the engine bog down....
try to keep the rear wheels spinning by locking them into the
bends, stepping the rear out, them boot it to keep the revs up and
wheels spinning......"
"As a rule, it's quicker to be slow in, fast out. You only gain a
fraction by braking later and have to sort the kart out for the
exit. Wheras brake a little earlier and carry more speed through
the corner, you'll have more control and carry that speed all the
way onto the next straight.
Leave the last-of-the-late braking for overtaking manouevres!"
