Went to SLS today and bought a zen vision m.

But when I reached home, fuck! I realised there isnt any proof of purchase. Does this means that there won't be any warrenty for my MP3 player? And if something goes wrong with it, I have to pay in order to get it repaired?

So does it mean that the receipt is the WARRANTY? If my mp3 got problem i'll just bring the receipt and i'll get it repaired free?

I'll suggest that you apply your warranty online.

Reason:
1) It provides another record should receipt is lost
2) Online Registration supports your warranty status should the retailer didn't
submit the sales record to Creative

However, warranty is considered void should:

1) Your MP3 isn't purchased from Creative's Authorised Distributor/Retailer
2) Serial Number is missing or illegiable when you submit product for repair

This part you'll know from the warranty processing. As for checking it out before buying, you've to see the sign whether if they put it inside the shop.

For overseas customer as long as they can produce a receipt for purchase of their mp3 player is enuff. However suppose you buy second hand from ppl or lost your receipt it is bye bye.

Nowadays I see a trend of electrical products that no longer come with warranty card hardcopy. Usually they ask you to register online with some serial number etc. I guess this is the trend to go. Save cutting more trees, print more cards and less man-effort to sort those cards. Everything is internet and warranty processed by computer to cut down labor cost.

Computers are here to stay whether you like it or not and for those doing those sort cards and process request your job may just be lost!!! Jobs will then open up for those who can do computer stuff like fixing, developing etc Mr. Green

U buy from SLS, must make sure u get warranty card, every electronic equpt comes with a warranty card & dealer stamp is just as impt, lastly receipt as proof of purchase.

This is customers part of safeguarding..............................if your buying foreign products, also make sure it's distributed thru localised dealers.

Nowadays it is not every electronic equipment comes with a warranty card and dealer stamp dun you know? I suppose you have yet to buy equipment that do not come with warranty card and dealer stamp? Mr. Green

Btw in case you wanna argue please define electronic equipment cuz I would lump washing machine, fridge, TV, DVD player etc etc into it and not just restricting to computer related hardware only.

For creative mp3 player there isn't any. You juz keep the receipt securely best. If pay using nets best is photostat cuz the nets receipt can fade away after some time. I go the creative service centre the ger told me keep the receipt safely and photostat cuz they also recognise photostat paper Mr. Green

Oh... This link I already tried. But it stated that " Please note that your warranty rights are not dependent on product registration."

So I'm not sure if that was the right one... Thanks alot for your help people! Mr. Green
