In the first place, why on earth was he barred from wearing shorts? After all, he did have a pretty logical reason for it: he had a leg injury and long pants would be really difficult to wear.

It wasn't as if he was going to cause a massive disruption by turning up in shorts. Nor was he trying to be mailicious in doing so.

really? whats pointless and senseless about making a point? and don't forget that people wanted to oppress that freedom u say is given. U don't get freedom. U FIGHT for it and this is what that boy has done. Afterall, they didn't want to let him wear shorts even though he had a valid reason to do so, and mockingly told him he could wear a skirt, so he went out to make a point.
