maybe you want to consider making a notebook for her. she is
still a student like you right? then a notebook to jot notes would
be useful.
you can just buy a ream of paper, maybe cut into a5 size instead so
that it is easier to bind.
cover and backing up to u to design.
for binding, you can put your art skills to work. if you want it to
be simple, can just hole punch and bind with thick strings. =)
