I'm not fond of Google Adsense and I wont be advocating for this
service. A very simple reason as to why.
I applied for adsense in december 05 and added in the code to my
blog as specified. After a few days, the records show that there
are people clicking on my ads and I earned $10 dollars for just
putting on codes for about 3 days alone.
I was pleasantly surprised.
I was also amazed at how with the addition of adsense, my traffic
spiked up from 100 visitors a day to 400. It was very curious, but
I left it to that. After all, if I have more clicks, I'd get more
moolah. I'm not complaining.
Guess what happened after a week.
My account was disabled. An email was sent to me that I had
'invalid clicks' - clicks from the same IP address over and over
again.
Admittedly, I do click a few advertisments that I thought was
interesting and which I was curious to know about. But I didnt
think that it was justifiable for my entire account to be
disabled.
It wouldnt be possible for me to click on my ads for like 400 times
a day.
And think about it, if you are malicious enough, you can disable
someone's adsense by clicking on it multiple times. Google adsense
wouldnt care. They see "oh, too many invalid clicks, time to
disable this account"
I'm not the only one. There are many other
disgruntled people too.
