Should I buy my Tucson now or wait till after CNY

I need some advice from the expects in this forum.

I am thinking of buying a Tucson but should I wait for after Chinese New Year.
I am not in a hurry.
There are rumours that COE will fall below $14,000 and if so, I was hoping to get a Tucson for between $70,000 to $72,000 if possible.

I guess another option is to do the 6 bids with a dealer but set a very low bid price about $10,000 and see if it comes true.

Any advice?

personally i think that Cat B won't fall below $10k which is the minimum deposit during COE bidding....so u have to weigh for yourself with the upside vs downside risk....

downside risk the most u lose another 4k..but upside risk? nobody know.... u never know when LTA will come in and reduce the COE quota and COE shoot up to >20k...

this situation is like buying and selling stock, u never know when is the end point...

yup... FC for hyundai cars are pretty bad. Worst is that petrol drinker- Santa Fe although it looks damn rugged n beastly to me which i like. In long run, FC does make a diff. I've read motoring mag reviews like 'Wheels Asia' talking about the tuscon being horrible in FC. It's the latest issues i think, the one with the 'Opel Astra' on the front cover.

Cheaper car with poorer FC will become more exp than more exp car with better FC in the long run. So extrapolate n do some basic math estimation.

Oh that article on tuscon on Wheels Asia !!!

Horrible the photographer and tester took the car out and they run out of of fuel during the testing !!! till they have to call in the support car to bring fuel. The tester complain that soon he have to run to the nearest petrol station to top up again as he worry if he can make it back to showroom !!! The comment was FC super bad .... all other things are good.

If you read newspaper, you will notice that every year or every few months, they will tell the world that "now is the time to buy car". So don't be "cheated" by their reports.

As for the choice of Hyundai Tucson, you may like to test drive her sister Kia Sportage or check out Toyota RAV4. Don't forget about her brother Hyundai Sante Fe - cheaper.

As long as your car is 2000cc and above, be prepared to pay more petrol.
