7-11 sells old copies of newspaper

In the morning I am always in a hurry. Before I hop on an MRT train, I drop by a 7-11 shop to buy bread/donuts and newspapers. However, this morning I bought STRAIT TIMES of last Sat. issue. The cashier even did not warn me. I only found this after I was on the MRT already.

Did you guys/gals buy old newspaper accidentally? I think news stand never sell old newspapers.

Go back this evening to exchange for today’s papers or other goods. I think it’s reasonable for you to expect to buy current newspapers, so they shd understand.

I’m not sure how sympathetic will the staff be since the papers are dated and what you see is what you get. But you could try exchanging.

no joke, i did see saturday's papers lying around on some newsstand at the bus stop. i was shocked when i wanted to glance at the headlines. they're like placed next to each other.

Usually the vendor who distributed the latest copy will take back the unsold ones. The outdated papers will be sent back to SPH to recycle.

Unless the staff had missed out the returning part or someone had simply tried to be funny by putting the issue elsewhere , it shouldn't be lying around.
