If I'm not wrong, the engine is the same 1.3l 16V engine as the
Charade SG sedan. A decent engine, but prob too much power loss
through the auto trans and the full time 4WD. Like most Perodua
cars, the car IS a rebadged Daihatsu- look up Daihatsu Terios. Same
car, different badge only....
The price was not competitive last time - cost about the same as a
normal Jap saloon for a rather spartan car. Anyway, I don't think
there are any new Kembaras being sold here anymore....unless you
want a 2nd hand one.
The new Kembara in Malaysia has a VVTi engine, so supposedly is
better.
