Depends on what crime is committed. Drug abuse, those people who bring in the drugs and murder criminals should be punished with death penalty

It has NEVER been ethical to KILL or take away one's life.

Be it by Law, or Man.

For example; a man kills a person, then he is caught and killed in return.

Two wrongs, don't make one right.

This is a good topic to debate. Do you support death penalty? I think in some states in US it is not but in some states it is there or reinstated. Some ppl thinking is a life for a life. You commit a murder you pay for it with your life. Now such statement implies those who commit multiple murders will benefit cuz it is one life for so many lives hahahaa.... Mr. Green

Non-death penlty supporters will defend saying sometimes gotta see the rationale or reason that drives a person to murder etc etc... to reduce charge to manslaughter.

Now we can tok more on the crime nature warranting death penalty. For a robber that kill someone or say a serial rapist etc...

Some ppl suggest for serial rapist, death penalty is letting him/her off too lightly. Castration is proposed so as to inflict the best pyschological wound on him. But if the rapist is a female how is castration going to be performed? Food for thought? Mr. Green

By majority consensus? The jury system is based on that concept rite? For countries adopting judge as the sole judge it is debatable but I believe spore using the judge system. Pros and cons for both systems I guess.

so different communities / cultures may have different standards as to what constitute "right and acceptable" behaviours?

i.e. ethics are not absolute but subjective?

I just looked at the tax letter my father got. Wow. I believe that continuing with capital punishment will definitely prevent the tax from rising since there will be no need to pay for their lodging. Looking at monetary value i think that its ethical. However when i look at the 10 commandments of “though shall not kill” and what buddism say “bu nen sha shen” obviously in terms of religion its not ethical. Ai such a hard decision to make. I believe that just kill the guy after his parent die at the least his parents will not have to bear the pain of seeing the death of their son. Withnessing the death of 1 child is a very heartwenching thing

If the murderer parents is painful at seeing their child die then what about their child's victim parents? Dun the victim have parents too? So it should be equal. Victim parents grieve so then the murderer parents grieve too. Only then will the murderer parents understand what it is to take one's lives away.

That is not the problem in Singapore. Singapore don't recognize female rapists.
