Industrial Attachment at NTU

yongyong SG

Anyone in NTU can help me verify this ?

U know, in NUS, if anyone exempted from industrial attachment ( 12 credit ), he or she need to takes other modules to makeup the 12 credits. Which means whether u either take attachment to gain the 12 credits, or u stay in school, go for lectures, exams and get the 12 credits.

Is NTU also work like this ?
or is NTU, if exempted the IA, students can graduate 6 months faster ?

u fat hope... NTU die die push u go attachment wan... its a 20+ AU module lor!!! equivalent to 5 or 6 exam to study!!

Go shake leg for 22 wks take pay or to study like a crazy cow.... u choose lah!!

yongyong SG

Oo.. like that ar ...

Coz NUS one is like only 12 credits for IA..........
So example, average u need to take 20 credits every semester. But since IA only 12 credits, it means that the remaining 8 credits, u need to make up for it during other semester lor.... Mmm.. correct me if i wrong, this is what the NUS staff told me.

So NTU also like this ? u have to make up ( study like cow and take exam ) the AUs if u not go for IA ?

So some of my frds in NUS choose not to take IA, coz it will overload them during other semester lor...

There was this lady from ntu who did her EEE attachment in my company for 6 months, she say compulsory. Laughing She graduated from poly and worked about 3 years before getting into ntu.

The IA department in NTU told me that the IA can be exempted lor.

Who meet the requirement can apply :
1. Poly Graduate with matric no.03xxxxxxx on wards
2. At least 2 years of relevant working experience.

Great! Can take more modules, garner no industry experience and not get paid a single cent! What more could anyone bargain for? Go for it man! Laughing

But the problem is, i do not know whether the NTU system and NUS system same or not.. i not too familiar with NTU system.

NUS one, if u choose not to take IA, then u have to take exam to make up the credits for IA.

I wonder NTU, if exempted from IA, is it like can graduated 6 months earlier or need to take other modules to makeup the IA's AUs....
