it is legal as far as the law is concerned. if she agrees with the compensation the charge will be withdrawn.

i will take the 38k too instead of filing. what does she gain from getting him into jail?

I say she should just take the $38000 and drop the charges. I mean, it's not as if the punch caused her permanent disability or anything..... right?
