faizal82 SG

Anyone applying for NTU/NUS this Feb? Just trying my luck, although my avg poly grades were mostly Cs, some B`s and only 2 A`s...I did apply for courses relavant to my diploma in NTU/NUS 2 years back but didnt get a place, so this time around I`m applying for the courses, not related to my field of study...oh well, just trying my luck... not related to course? Confused

you are making your chance extremely slim...

Well I have a friend who has an IT diploma and now he`s studying in the NUS Arts & Social Science faculty...so anything can happen.... Smile

798 SG

how's his result like? cos last time i heard, only diploma with merit get the priority to choose other course.

i suppose art n social science is quite a dark horse course.

Xcert SG

FASS quite OK lar...not really dark horse...just a matter of whether U are keen or not... Laughing Mr. Green

Try an engineering course, I'm sure you stand a better chance. Laughing

hmn....your grades abit low if you dont mind me being straight forward. But its good to try lah..anyway, application only 20bucks right?
You got referral letters or not? from your poly lecturers, and employers.. That can raise your chances abit.. Wink

Why bother?

Unless you think poly is not difficult, then try.
Else don't waste time.

Uni, esp uni Engin is not for everyone.

Poly CMI. Even merit holder also fail in uni. Makes me think how bad poly is.

798 SG

internet computing is equally dark course as well. no wonder you want to switch course. i think it is better to seek out counsellor from open house or career talk to give you advise of which course give you higher chance wif this diploma. Smile

Mm....
I have friends study in NTU EEE, they are from Poly EEE courses also.
Direct 2nd year to NTU. that will make them only need to study 3 years.

Anyone know how about NUS ? how r the MC calculated ?
i heard that there is not direct entry to 2nd year. Which means u have to study full 4 years. What is good for a Poly is that, u could get some MC exempted. Meaning u will have less module for year 1 or 2 .. but full duration still 4 years ...

MMm...

Go overseas for your degree if you can afford it.

Really. Laughing

yongyong SG

if no money ler ....?

thats y must choose between NTU or NUS lor.. if NUS cannot direct to 2nd year .. then i think choose NTU better..
faster finish the sch ....

charlize SG

No money, work for a few years and save up.

Then go for your overseas degree. Laughing

dok gong SG

NUS got what. FOr engin, as long as your diploma is relevant, you can gain direct entry into second year. Some first years modules are not exempted, like maths…so infact, your work load is more then the others at certain sem.

dok gong SG

Got money…yeah…go overseas to study. Less stressful, more fun and less work if you have the wrong mentality.

dok gong SG

For diploma holders, as long as you’re willing to put your bloody head down and work hard, study anywhere also no problem. It’s a different kind of studying environment in the uni as compared to the poly.

pai seh…double post.
