Say, have you tested Kia Cerato and Proton Gen2? I remembered from
1 issue of motoring that these 2 cars are reviewed as the better
budget cars around, together with Vios. Cerato also have great
interior and decent space. Gen 2, on the other hand, has a very
sporty feel and a Lotus engine.[/b]
its true what demonhawk said abt the optra has more features and
that was what made me consider it in the first place. the features
and fittings were a notch better than the vios that i was
considering... with all the items found only in more higher price
cars but at such a bargain price on par with the vios...
i have tried out the Cerato but I found it not my liking. infact,
at last count, its cheaper than the vios although the specs and
interior were better than the vios but thinking abt the resale
value, fc and maintenace and being a "new" model, it was supposed
to be a replacement for the previous Kia spectra.. and the latter
model wasnt even popular in the first place and yes i see many
ceratos on the road but somehow i do not have a feel good feeling
of it. at last count, it was retailing abt 55K. the gen 2 is
definitely overpriced... supposed to be a budget car but with all
the so-called advanced tech as mentioned by proton, its trying to
compete head on with the corolla, way out of its league and further
more, protons are not that exactly popular with sporeans... with
the exception of the british.
i have narrowed down to the vios and (now) the city. but the city
doesnt have lots of specs, no srs, abs or alloy rims which on
comparison makes the vios looks for much attractive now... the
trouble is that both cars targeted at buyers like me, and it seems
that both cars are missing stuff that i would to see... actually, i
would take vios immediately if it has fold down seats something
that city has cos the vios seems to have all the specs i prob need
and at a reasonable price...not forgetting that toyota's vvti was
meant to rival honda's vtec..... whereas the city is a tad
expensive and yet is missing the alloy rims, and the safety
features that make the vios different...though its alot more comfy
and its good i-dsi engine and many say its ugly but somehow i find
it ok, the looks and everything... guys, its just a headache for
the first time car buyer
