pqr SG the exchange rate at korea airport is best...compared to shopping mall and hotels.. the rate last month was about S$1 = 625 won. Singapore rate at lucky plaza is about 600 won only. so, if u r going to korea for holiday, do most of ur exchange at the airport
B_sleeP SG serious?! i will be goin during CNY.. if u said that then mayb i considering changing most of the $$ there.. COOL!!!
pqr SG yup...i just went last month... also, the korea tour guide say S$ almost as good as US$ there. bring some S$ in case need to exchange. Also, there is hardly any VISA or MASTER card acceptance there....only at some shops
B_sleeP SG oh thanks thanks.. i really goin to bring my card over to shop.. by the way wat is nice to buy here? food or present?? tell me more so that i can prepare..
pqr SG there are some accessories that u can get from those night market at about 2000 to 4000 won... korea is best known for ginseng.
B_sleeP SG The card for spare purposes... if really not enough cash at least i can press correct? Mastercard? Visa? Ginseng! The last trip my sis went she bought a lot back, i cannot stand the smell le... By the way i heard the seaweeds are nice there? wat flavours is nice? ANONE KNOWS?
pqr SG no VISA / MC machine how to press $$ out ? try all their funny seaweed flavours....what is nice to me may not be nice to you... Their better quality ginseng is not sold out of korea u know...only those who been to korea can buy...even their own people cant buy their top quality ginseng
B_sleeP SG anymore things to buy other then seaweed and ginseng?.. wan to find the best food back to SG..
B_sleeP SG lol.. r u goin too??? i am leaving on the 29/01/06.. i don know bringing hw much... ask others first.. depending on budget too...
pqr SG u can ask ur agent for advise on how much to bring... what can buy depends on the places u visit.
pqr SG 1 more thing... in winter condition...the camera battery drain out much much faster. have to keep battery warm in order to take photos. if is cold, it wont work. so if using rechargable batteries, have to put the adaptor for korea. korea uses 2 circle pins...unlike 3 pins in singapore
plump SG winter time go there, wat to prepare? must wear boot?? wat about Dr Marten shoes? must bring those eskimos jacket ?
newmanmback SG korea karaoke got extra service not har? singapore see malay and indian girls cannot stand leh
B_sleeP SG Actually i am not sure abt hw much cos i am not paying for it... If i rem correctly it's for 8 days ba.. cos i took leave for 10 days le.. no harm at all...
LinYu SG If possible, don't buy too much ginseng from the shops that the tour guide bring you to. you may get it cheaper at the DFS in the airport in Korea. tink the tour guide gets a big cut from the shop. The last time my mum spend US1,000.00 on the ginseng coax by the salesperson. then the tour giude lied to us that we are not allowed to bring too much ginseng back so he took our reciept saying he will help us clear custom at airport. but didn't see him do anything. I tink he took all our reciept to claim his cut from the shop. Anyway happy holiday in Korea. We miss seeing snow falling on our trip.
