I have no idea man for the P.E... sorry ...
.. I jumped ship from engineering to com
science for my degree ... heee
But I hear it's a comprehensive exams that covers a multitude of
subjects, maths,
physics, and also engineering law, ethics etc ... sort of like a
grand final exam, and I believe there's a certain period of work
experience required too, you can't take the P.Eng exam right away
...
It's sort of like getting a CPA for accountants, a formal
accreditation for engineers, and common in other countries, for
example, it is illegal in Canada to practise as an "Engineer"
unless you're accredited with a P.Eng, people don't care whether
you've graduated from MIT or some sungei road uni, but they look at
whether you have a P.E or not ... like graduating with a law degree
and being called to the bar only a few years later, you'll be a
"lawyer" only then ...
I'm unfamiliar with how Singapore goes about regulating the
profession, but I guess most times "Engineer", unlike say Lawyer or
Doctor, is a job description rather than a professional title,
maybe you can check out the PEB website ? ...
