Two major road infrastructure projects, scheduled to be completed
in 2019, will offer motorists a smoother ride along a section of
the Tampines Expressway (TPE) and in the Bukit Timah area.
The Land Transport Authority revealed details of the projects to
The Straits Times yesterday after calling tenders for them last
month.
A new one-way viaduct will be built along the TPE to offer
motorists a direct connection to the westbound Pan-Island
Expressway (PIE) and also to Upper Changi Road East.
The approximately 1.5km viaduct will "alleviate the congestion
currently experienced at this stretch of TPE", an LTA spokesman
said. Existing junctions linking Upper Changi Road East, Upper
Changi Road North, PIE and TPE will also be improved.
