Many christians try too hard to hard sell their denomiation, to the
extent of stabbing other christian denomination in the back. I had
an absurd conversation with a CHC person trying to recruit me some
time back:
CHC: Accept Christ in your life.
Me: Join your religion?
CHC: Yes. Accept Christ in your life and you will feel His
love.
Me: But I know next to nothing about christianity. Who is
Jesus?
CHC: You dun need to know how to build a car to drive a car right?
Just accept Christ first. You can learn later.
Me: So I can be a christian without knowing anything about God,
jesus and christianity?
CHC: Do you need to be a car mechanic to drive a car? No need
right? So just join first.
Me: I'm not ready, why the hurry?
CHC: just join first. After you join then you'll realise that
you're ready.
Me: I'd rather not. I want to know more about your teachings first
before agreeing to anything.
CHC: So you'll accept Christ?
Me: nope. I want to know what does your church preach before
joining.
CHC: I told you already, its about accepting Christ Jesus as your
saviour. I dun see how much more specific I can be!
Me: I just want to know more first before agreeing.
CHC: You can't know more without accepting Christ first!
Me: I just want to know more first.
CHC:I dun see what's holding you back. Look, we all joined and
we're so happy right?
(collective affirmatives)
CHC: See? You can be like us. Just accept Christ.
Me: No.
sounds similar to mlm recruitment tatics to me............
