thing is, overseas i don't think they expected me to tip at
all(didn't see anyone else tipping, and my friends thought i was
silly to do so), and there's no service charge on top of that ,
since the bill's relatively cheap i see no harm in tipping
over here in sg, i get charged more for service charges , and the
service is still crap
one thing i noticed is , in singapore they don't care how much
they're paying, most singaporeans expect to have their every wishes
obeyed, even for absurd demands
demands not met means "where's the manager?"
not sure where you visited, but where i work, the moment the
customer comes in we have to follow, to make sure the customer
knows we are there for them if they need anything
and another important reason, to make sure the person who comes in
doesn't go out with something without paying
