Help in VB for MS access

Does anyone have any suggestion to incorporate the application of Visual Basic into Ms access. The reason why i asking for assistance is because i do not hav a strong foundation in Programming language but i need to come up with a database system. Therefore, i hope u can input me with some examples, which i can reference to.

Use OleDbConnection...

Got 2 ways...

1 is use the OleDbConnectio function in the Visual Studio... click click click nia... can le... not very advicible unless u using it on 1 pc nia... coz if the database directory change u have to redo the whole thing again...

2nd way more chim... VERY chim... u need to write some codes to use the OleDbConnection to connect to MS access... then write some methods to invoke the usage of SQL statements... den after tat u can just call the methods in order to manipulate the database... but now u still have to change the code if the database directory is different....

Hi,

Using VB app to connect to Ms Access, YOu need to have :

1. Knowledge in ADO or ADO.Net
2. alots of client -server things to do.
3. alots of tracking and trouble shoot in client server cases.

Why dont you use Ms access to learn to do first. It has VB application BUILT in for you. YOu can also use Ms Access to do client -server things too.

Go for C#,Vb.net. VB has changed to VB.net this is better, It is like Java, C++. I

Thank replying. But I'm still newbie when it comes to programming lang. So wat are the application that i can do when i use the built-in VB in MS access? Any examples i can follow on?

VB in MS Office is called VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)

VBA uses the same syntax as VB6.

VB.NET and VB2005's syntax is extremely different from VB6. Most of my program built in VB6 do not work at all in VB.NET.

You can use forms (and open other forms), pictureboxes -- and all other standard functions, but you cannot use other custom controls (*.ocx) as VBA uses a different ActiveX control...

Example to follow?

Go to Library and borrow a Ms access book like Ms access 2000 to start with.

when you build a MS access database:

1. You create table.

Then you press the Form Button. This is The Form that use in VB. In Vb.net, the form is called Form class.

In this form, you can do coding with VBA some1 mentioned here.

What application you can do.

Start a employee database and payroll and so on.

Advance level :

Using MS access talk to MS SQL server.
and many more.
