I think they're going to take some liberal interpretations of
the manga/anime (ie, shortcuts) in order to compress the storyline
into a feature length film.
Takumi's AE86 has never carried the Akina SpeedStars logo (the
first scanned magazine page shows it on the bonnet). By the way, it
sure looks grungy inside the engine bay, I thought someone
mentioned that Toyota Japan put up 3 new AE86s for this film?
Otherwise, externally the AE86 looks great, down to the yellow
foglights and black Watanabe rims, accurate to the manga. Seems
like a genuine carbon-fibre bonnet there too, but the dull finish
of the bumper looks like its probably a fibreglass replica of some
sort. They should think about putting a 11k speedometer into the
car somewhere along the way too!
Is there two GT-Rs in there, or did they just swap rims on the same
car?
They've finally started on this film, been waiting really long for
it......
