I play neopets Its good enough for me... am I out of point?

But i think the PS3 nVIDIA GPU will win over ATi GPU

Coz the current nVIDIA Graphic Card, GeForce 7800 GT has a very good performance, so i think the PS3 should have GPU of comparable quality.

Also, i prefer nVIDIA (sorry that im might be bias)

hha no offence but r u trying to imply that the smaller the better?? lol then ur com suxs coz ur com is much MUCH bigger than xbox 360 and PS3 lol Razz

What this means to us is that X360 GPU has twice the theoretical power of PS3 GPU.

From what u wrote, it seems like the XBox360's GPU is a totally custom unit. Therefore, the costs of XBox360 should be a lot more expensive? If so, then XBox 360 supporters should buy their consoles fast before the prices rise?

kenshin_himura SG

in this case xbox 360 is actually a $2000 mac squeezed into a small box mini computer used for games bah le read it somewhere in one of IGN reports

abao SG

but smaller also means the interior’s going to get warm faster

Actually, i have questions to both Sony and Mircosoft.

Why dont you use Dual-Core Processors in the console.
And why not use AMD's processors? I thought the are better in gaming - what the consoles does most.

Technomage SG

i think u people should not worry about which is better. u PEOPLE SHOULD WORRY IF THE NEW GAME DISC CAN BE BURN TO MAKE PIRATED GAMES ANOT!!!!

ATi spent more time on the GPU. Moreover the GPU in XBOX360 is more powerful than R520, and R520 loses to 7800GTX 512mb so you cannot make a real comparison yet.

Suan people also don't need to suan so badly.

Oh yeah, only people like you know Xbox 360 use wireless? When the controller that comes is wireless itself?

Why swoop so low if you cannot fight back? I side 360. Read.

Whatever Microsoft says, you don't take it at face value. Always, +/- 2 years to it. Windows Longhorn.

People just can't be objective.
Must put the other machine down for what.
These are just games...hai...

Dual Core processors only recently reached the consumer market, and moreover it will push the price up, and it will need a special motherboard for it...

No, not for this year's. Probably the next Xbox, but PS4 won't have DualCore when they are still using iMac's CPU.

The current processers used are 32-bit.

The Gaming Bubble Burst? Like ATARI?

I think history will repeat itself. The gaming industry will soon crash again, and real good game makers will rise.

Those who don't know what I'm talking about, ask targa2, he'll sure know one, he knows everything one.

Yalor, Vista so long liao only in beta testing. And i dont even see the reason for changing to Vista.

Also, DOA4 release date delayed for X360............(I want to see real screenshots done on consoles...not ads by parent companies)

launtpc SG

November CTP release for Vista Beta out, nothing much, still. Far from completion. Microsoft also pushing Office 12 out... They doing more than what they can do.

I also don't know why Sony using G4 Processor.
By right they should be able to leverage on G5 dual technology...maybe they don't want to convert to relying on Apple.

Clarification

PS3 Specifications :

Extracted from http://ps3.ign.com/articles/636/636848p2.html

What is the Cell?
The Cell processor was co-designed by IBM, Toshiba and Sony. Configurations can differ, but here's what the PS3's Cell chip will be like:
- PowerPC-based Core @ 3.2GHz
- 7 SPEs @ 3.2GHz
- 512KB L2 Cache
- 7 x 256KB SRAM for SPEs

Basically, a single Cell processor is designed to act like multiple processors working together, or even independently. A Cell processor has a single PowerPC Architecture Unit (PAU) and multiple Synergistic Processing Elements (SPEs). A Cell's PAU dolls out instructions to its various SPEs, which can then independently work on tasks. So for instance, one SPU might be programmed to run a game's AI while another handles physics. Since each one acts independently, multiple calculations can be done simultaneously. In other words, it's very powerful. In fact, it's powerful enough to perform 218 GFLOPS.

where has it got to do with Apple?

M©+square SG

Apple uses PowerPC processor(Alpha Chip) until they've dropped IBM and switched to Intel.

I might be wrong. It doesn't have anything to do with apple.
only the CPU power could be seen on a mac.

abao SG

So...its just the word POWER, and people immediately associate it with Apple.
Maybe IBM should change the processors name to something less confusing Neutral

Hmm a bit diff rite selling blu ray discs or HD DVD at $10 per game lol sure suffer loss one.. now sony and MS are getting smarter.. using high end products and no longer cheap CDs or DVDs Laughing

U nid not worry, look at the PSP, its UMD format was broken long long ago Mr. Green
the DVD's should not take too long aso Twisted Evil

M©+square SG

Then we should find out if the Chip's main manufacturer is IBM or not.
Only IBM does PowerPC chip and Macs have that chip. It's a TM mah, why change.
