When I see the title, I though we are comparing between the
normal lancer and the city-idst. Since they are of about the same
price of 61K. Anyway, my bro test-driven both (Low end ones, not
V-tec) and he made some comments about them.
Firstly, engine. City actually feels a little sluggish, its power
kicks-in slowly maybe because of its SOHC engine. Lancer however
does give you the rush when Rev.
Secondly, handling. My bro didn't say anything about city's
handling. But he was quite please with Lancer's. It gives him the
confidence to speed toward a corner and made a high speed turning
during his test-drive. I was in the rear passenger seat and I could
really feel the G-force. I can tell my bro really likes driving
that car.
Thirdly, space. Lancer's cabin is decent, usual for cars of its
range. City's cabin is also about that, but wait til you open its
boot. You can easily place 2 super-sized lugguge in there and still
have room to spare. You will never run out of room for this
car.
In all, Lancer would be the choice if my bro were to choose between
these 2 cars. But the decision wouldn't be clear with Vios in the
picture.
Both Lancer and city he tested are Manual, but Toyota doesn't have
manual Vios for testing, so my bro went for the auto one. For
enginer and power, Vios wins. But I think most people are quite
concern about its small cabin space and thin car
walls(safety).
Anyway, do test-drive all and you will be able to see the
different.
