Which tyre is better?

hirwan SG

I'm thinking changing my tyres to Michelin Preceda or Pirelli Dragon for 205/55 R16. Which is better??

m166877 SG

go for Hankook Ventus k105 or the more ultra high performance k 104
it is the most value-for-money
most sg ppl go for brand,u should go for spec.the k 104 has got aa grade for traction which u can find same in other branded tyre for at least 50% more on pricing.
which is very very not worth.

imprezaWRXSTi22B SG

how much is the hankook?

m166877 SG

looking at yr name i should recommend u the racing version, the RS2

price at abt $160/-

for K 104 ultra high performance for the size mention i think u can get around $150/-

imprezaWRXSTi22B SG

10 bucks diff nia? worth it right? or is there something i dun know?

imprezaWRXSTi22B SG

dun let my nick mislead you. i dun own and never drove a 22B before. and i prefer the 8.5MR to the 22B anytime. just tot that the nick will be rather unique compared to anything to do with Evos. cheers.

m166877 SG

aga aga only, cause racing tyre worn off faster, anyway this tyre use super silica compound which is first produce by HANKOOK to what i know and it is patented, it is better than silica compound alone

[email protected] SG

hankook? no way. know of ppl who installed the high spec ones but the tyres still performed poorly. look. all that’s in contact between u, yr car n the road r 4 small areas of rubber. they decide if u live or die. dun skimp on the tyres. they may save yor life.

m166877 SG

when michael schmacher spin he dont blame on the tires,he will blame the luck orsomething else that cause it

but u ppl blame on the tires when u spin

shmae on u

got to admit yr skill not up to standard

houndy SG

?????? different standard.....he changes his tyres every 15 minutes.. while normal people like changes like oncein a blue moon...

huoye SG

from wad i can see his mind is all abt the hankook tyres. i think almost all of his post is abt how good they r.
i wonder is he selling them

coolblue6699 SG

Then I no need to choose any tyre liao, just find the cheapest one Laughing I think you also no need to tell ppl which tyre to go for, cos all tyre the same mah, the performance of the car only depends on skill. so skillfull driver can save money liao, maybe Lanc can out perform a EVO Very Happy

guitarman1 SG

wahah.. so means if we blame luck instead of tyres then our skill is up to standard?

[email protected] SG

ayah ppl sell tyre mah... of course when we say the tyre no good he get frustrated loh. Rolling Eyes MS... pah.

m166877 SG

its not abt cheapest but abt 'the best value for money'anyway i am not a seller,
for eg: if $5/- can buy u a durian with the same standard in taste n so on, y u want to pay more for an eg: k24 or some more reputated one which is far more expensive right, in yr case.

in the case of cars maybe i will, cause it can show off our stardard,
but for tyre who cares right. even if u drive a lousy n put on michelin tyres
whats the use right?

regard of standard in driving let me tell all of u,i m not saying that ppl cant blame tyres what i mean is think of yr skill 1st ,did u under or over steer.2nd is there a hole or bump during turn ,3rd is there oil or some sort n so on.
got it all of u?

[email protected] SG

so you are accusing michelin and pirelli and other established tyre makers of being no better than Hankook tyres? that is slander might I remind you, esp since you do NOT know the exact processes and research that these makers have put into the manufacture of their tyres. Tyres’s performances go beyond just compounds used and thread pattern alone.

m166877 SG

by the way for yr info HANKOOK n MICHELIN r partner

HANKOOK will be producing tyres for michelin under michelin brand for europe market

n will cooperating in marketing n producing n procurement area

m166877 SG

i introduce a magazine by the name AUTO-BID ,iits a motoring mag from germany,n there r tyre test every few months ,comparing brand like MICHELIN,B/STONE,YOK,AVON,PIRELLI,GOODYEAR,DUNLOP etc in all sorts of condition n u can get to learn more from there regarding tyres. verdict will be given n not forgeting prices

[email protected] SG

yes i know they are in partnership with michelin since 02 or 03 i think. But no I do not think they are on par with michelin itself. Rather, Michelin wants a share of the lower spec and lower priced market without brand name dilution.

[email protected] SG

yes I have heard of Auto-Bid as well. the fact is that, of numerous tyre tests I've read about, this is the only one which has mentioned that its as good as you say it is. Perhaps u have read about other tyre tests which has placed the hankook favourably and can let us know about it here?
