Using science as an analogy, ask yourself why will your astronomy professor teach you geocentric model when it is obviously "inaccurate"? Why not use the correct version, ie. the heliocentric model all the time?

1. They didn't try to convert pple en-mass. You already said Jews not counted. I don't think there're any other ethnic races more prominent than the Jews.

2. Granted they did manage to convert some people, I seriously dont think they were very successful in their conversions, as in those converted contributed to the main bulk of Christians. (read the reply by the poster)

Because it is a model, just as you say, because from humans view on earth everything is "outside". BUT he does not show the geocentric and say this is the layout of the universe. The flat-worlders DID say that.

First and foremost. I never used the word en-mass. The crusades happened and an a$$load of people died for lack of conversion. MANY were brought back to rome as slaves. And have ya ever heard of Moors??? Evidently not....They were quite big back in the day, to par of with the Jews...

And sorry, but your attempt to play-down the crusades aint happening...There is a reason why the Pope made a world apology for the Crusades....I don't think he would have done it if it were just a lil harmless conversation on the streets, starting off with

Yes true. I agree. However, there ARE certain things that anyone can find that are just plain Wrong. Admitting the faults of them, due to lack of proper knowledge doesn't have to mean giving up the faith. One can easily still be a christian, hindu, etc., and yet search for the deeper truths outside of the status quo norms of the religion....

Interesting, considering that traditional buddhism, and especially the buddhism back then, in the locales mentioned, did not worship anyone. If people truly saw anything - then they simply did not understand it.
