Gaming for a living
TWISTS wants to know if Singapore will ever produce professional
gamers.
He asks because he wonders if parents here will allow children time
to practise to reach professional standards.
BeiJiFeng thinks not. 'Singapore, is not America or Korea. Our
country is run like a company. If you can't contribute financially
to the company, you're better off not in the company.'
Professional gamers, he says, live off their earnings which will
not be possible in Singapore because local players lack dedication
and sponsorship.
Thinker disagrees and says local players can turn professional.
'Our top local Counter Strike team already has great sponsorships
from Singtel, Nvidia, Intel and Razer.'

Tainted truth
HIV-positive blood donors were charged in court recently.
This has sparked a debate: Is the law coming down too harshly on
these donors?
Novarain wonders if the measures might put people off from donating
blood.
Many others, however, feel that the measures are necessary.
jsbn says every blood donor is made to answer a questionnaire.
People should not lie and risk infecting others, he says.
pete98 agrees. 'Ignorance is no excuse. Making false statements of
any kind, especially...where lives may be endangered, has always
been a chargeable offence.'
