Donating is fine but the problem lies in the various hidden traps
laid by donor and recipient reps. Take getting credit for instance.
Who really gets it?
The donor/s or the representative/s and who's the representative
and in whose name? A businessman on behalf of his organisation, a
rep on behalf of the government or just a charitable singaporean on
behalf of singaporeans.
In many cases, some donations are being siphoned off under the
pretext of covering costs (by both donor and recipient reps).
I'm afraid there are many doing charity to get recognition and
credit at the expense of donors.
Donate but do it with kindness and prudence, not foolishness, ie
caveat emptor.
