Okay granted those things do happen. Just something I've been
wondering: Is there some kind of shapeshifter in Singapore that
follows me to every cinema I go to just so he/she/it can put legs
against the back of my chair and kick and jerk it?
Anyway, Americans take out guns over road rage, Australians using
drugs in Bali clubs, I also happen to know a few people who have no
use for but still buy eco destructive vehicles like the Chevrolet
Suburban, overkill really.
I've also seen Indians littering like crazy. Bangladeshis who tried
to drive me out of the public badminton court by ganging up on me
and my fellow players.
I also happen to know this particular government protested when a
terrorist had his jail sentence cut for masterminding the Bali
blasts but make a lot of noise when their own citizens trafficked
drugs and was sentenced to jail.
I'm not trying to blast anyone here, I've served in Singapore's SAF
myself so you can't say I'm against Singaporeans okay? But yes
sometimes it's sad, not really something angering, that what the
government encouraged in Singaporeans, the will to fight for your
survival, spills over in the form of kiasuism to apply on things
like queue cutting. Imagine if everyone took it slow, relaxed and
let things come as they come, I think this country would still be a
kampong. It's a trait that has its good and bad sides, and maybe
some people cannot understand it is a trait that was necessary to
ensure survival.
India has its own share of problems too remember the Kashmir region
line of control? What about the caste system? What's this black and
white Indian thing too right?
Let me be frank here, sometimes it is not that someone is
overbearing, but because the self is inferior. And playground
physics also dictate that the biggest one gets the best toys. It's
a simple fact of life that will not change, no matter how much we
rant for equality and reason. Other countries' citizens may have
bad things to say about Singaporeans, but I'm pretty darn sure and
willing to bet they have bad things to say about other countries
too. So let's not feel special hehe.
