KopiKia, Which Bible in this world, did you read that Jesus Christ had a daughter? Are you so apt in starting controversial discussions?

31appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. 32Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. 33As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three sheltersone for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." (He did not know what he was saying.)

so i guess peter has plenty of wives too huh. wow! another conspiracy!

8When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!" 9For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's partners.

i guess it was customary at that time for the men to bring their wives to go fishing eh?

3 A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,
but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.

ok, lets switch words ok?

A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,
but a wife of prostitutes squanders his wealth.

wierd, doesn't seems to make sense.. maybe there's some hidden code in it! yes, lets call on da vinci, and might as well call on sherlock holmes while we're at it eh?

dumbdumb! SG

the word "companion" doesn't just means wife.

same like clothes doesn't just means T shirts.

zzz

Kuali Baba SG

It’s ambiguous, let’s not get petty please. This whole thing is really a conjecture and that’s it.

the Bear SG

lemme guess... you read the crappy fiction entitled "The Da Vinci Code" and believed every single word in it, even when it is classified as Fiction Laughing

I'd have to say that Buddhism is actually one of the most rational systems.
"Irrationally believes in..." There is a very logical and rational argument behind what the original sakyamuni and his fellows spoke of. I am not saying it is the truth. In the same way that you say religion is merely a way to deal with the unknown... It can easily be said that "permanent death" is also an unknown. No one has had a "permanent death" and then come back to say - it's really just black empty nothing forever, or it's for sure the pearly gates, etc. (I am not talking of 'near-death experiences' here, but merely playing with your argument).

And I'd also like to point out that religion and spirituality were the grandfathers to modern day science and medicine.

Religion and spirituality have brought out specialized operations of elite intelligence agencies around the world.

Religion and spirituality have brought out some of the world's best art.

Religion and spirituality have brough about a great many things...Besides just "dealing with fear of permanent death"

Northwind SG

Please explain your definition of the term "rational"

Who knows - maybe she was a real hottie, ya know!?
Just kidding...okay, maybe that's in bad taste...lol

Northwind SG

Before i say this...Let me say that I am not backing up the companion-wife-whatever argument. Just joining in when I agree or disagree on specific points.

Also....originally jesus never said "I am God"... the original word was light...

Northwind SG

Maybe the original poster does and maybe they don't. But I have to say - I read the book and definitely don't think it's "crappy." It's damned good book - or else we wouldnt be having this thread! lol

Anyway, I like the fact that it does open some doors to questioning. It opened my eyes to symbolism and "hidden" things Smile

Jesus was never intimate with a woman….he tried but whenever he touched their gash it would heal and close up.
