How much is the Car Body Worth?

Anyone knows how much my colleague's Honda VTI Car body is worth?
Register in 2002 Jan. Planning to Scrap it in Dec before it turns 3yr old. Paper Value at $47k.

m having mixed response..some pple told me have some told me dun have...those said have said very little....but i got a news from my fren's other dept mgr..this guy wanna scrap his car (5yrs liao), was quoted the paper value + 6K for body!!...he asked other dealer b4, who gave him paper value nia...

so wat i can say here is most dealers will wanna makan the body value as commission..right??

whatever the car have body value or not and how much is the value will depends on the market suitations and the demand for that car.

There are cars right out there brought last year, brand new, only scape value now. So if the owner want to sell his car, he is going to have vomit out a lot of blood.

Also everyone have different lobang, some dealer may offer a better price cos they can get a good price for that car at that time. When u get a quote, ask when u have to hand over the car. Different timing may have different price.

*** The above i don't fully agree. B'cos that only happens if yo're selling your ride to a Dealer generally. If you could sell your ride to a genuine buyer most likely you would not have to Vomit blood. I've never seen any 2nd hand dealers selling off their bought in cars & vomitting Blood!!!. In fact it should be the other way round.***

Example you but a Brand new Civic VTI last year depreciating around 6.5kpa.
Selling it to a genuine buyer at 5.8-6k pa should not be a problem provided ur ride is well-maintained.

My friend quoted Body export 10k.
If your friend keen then must be looking at 58k onwards!

Would u buy a car with a low COE or high COE.

Let take a car with a COE of 30K, brought 2 year ago at 80K., selling second hand at $63-65k.
A new car will cost $71k now with COE at 21k.

which would you buy?

FYI, a lot of second-hand cars dealer are struck with cars that they buy over when the COE is 27k-30k. When the COE drops, people would rather get a new car which may cost maybe only 10% more. So they may also have to vomit blood if they want to get ride of the car.

correct me if i wrong, if u were to buy a higher coe car, it wud improve ur financial capabilities to buy a new one rite? cos it gives back a higher resale value than a lower coe car.....

a higher COE just mean a higher depreciation.
