yea.. I gt it from the optional upgrade.. Its good in dry days and realli good for high speed drifts in akagi but not suitable for Iro or hapo...

Hi, how about the wheel upgrades for trueno 86? Anyone can give me an opinion? It seems that less ppl drive that car nowadays... I drive it cos i really like Takumi in the anime. Wink

I must sae that 86 is the hardest car to control in initial D(for me ar). Starting part of 86, i can manage the car but after the 12k tachometer is added, i very impatient to wait for the needle to go to 11k den change..... very mafan although this can make the car go real FAST....

Fd is still the best.

btw.anyone can give mi some tips for FD at iro when turning hairpins. I rarely can complete a full turn wihout banging at the outer.I usually let go acceleratin all the way when i turn, anyone can give me some suggestions?

Use faint drifting in the turns after the 1st turn after the 1st check point until the turn where u can jump... And sometimes shift down ur gear in order to make a fast acceleration after turning... FD's true aspect is its acceleration.... So try not to make FD bang the wall... perhaps tapping the brake when turning could help...

Faint Drift - This is done by rocking the car towards the outside of a
turn and then using the rebound of grip to throw the car into the normal cornering direction. (Like in Initial D when Truneo first race against FD and this is heavy rally racing technique used to change vehicle attitudes during cornering, mainly tight mountain corners).

its not quite clear. but anyway, I dun think that person drives that FD to percent stage. he didnt make use of all the jump points and fumbles with the FD at some parts, but is still definetely better than mi.

i tot he is using DC2?? But anyway faint drifting has been proven to for FR cars to drift at a faster speed and exit a corner at a high speed…

Actually, tats nt even a drift. tats only a normal turn. a drift is where the caris turn a about 45 dergree. the method tat is taught is when entering a corner, lower a gear and go up a gear quick while steering hard to the direction of the turn, almost to the point of oversteering, counter steer steady to control the dift. dift is a fast way for a corner as it looses left speed than a normal turn, but hard to control and do, tats y is realy done in the game.

I am not 100 percent sure bout this, so correct me if I am wrong. Wink

Hmmm... me now very confused.... but in initial D, i saw a pro using a FD conquering Akina. He down 1 gear, turn the steering wheel less than half a turn, the car is visibly seen to drift when entering the corner and den he turn the steering wheel full to exit the corner at a high speed. Mr. Green

most probably what u see is only a turn. he turn half a turn is because maybe his steering wheel stiffness is low? perharps 1 or 2 only

A question regarding the stiffness setting of the steering wheel... Does it even affect the turning angle? I thought it only affects how easy the wheel is turned.
86 can be quite hard to drive... I have to accelerate earlier (compared to other cars) during cornering cos it loses a lot of speed if throttle is released to cause a drift... Any tips on that?

Nah… it doesn’t affect the angle of turning…. Its the heaviness of the steering wheel..

Its like power steering. anyway, i feel tat 5 is juz nice for most of us. For 6,7,8,9. the advantages is tat u will have a better feel of turning radius compared to smaller settings like 1,2. For e first 2 maps, maybe it would help with a heavier setting, but for e last 2 maps, lighter settings will be better. juz my $0.20 worth of tots. hee..... Laughing

Unless you're really strong, you shouldn't put the steering to the higher settings although I saw 1 guy use steering 9 and drive down Iro. Shocked Dunno if his hand got internal fracture. Try out a few steering settings and then you can know which is better for you. At 1 you wouldn't be able to feel any sort of feedback from the wheels and you can't tell how much you have turned unless you are really familiar with the turning angles.

Another way to help control your car is to use the brake. Dun step all the way on the brake though or you'll find that your wheels feel very stiff and cannot seem to turn at all. Just pump the brakes in advance to help reduce speed in preparation for the turn.
