Deadline or Dateline?

Why do people keep using the word "Dateline", when it is supposed to be "Deadline"?

"I have a dateline to meet"
"Tomorrow is my project dateline"

Deadline : The point in time at which something must be completed

Dateline : An imaginary line on the surface of the earth following (approximately) the 180th meridian

It's very easy to remember the right word. My ex lecturer used to tell me this
"Deadline.... If you don't complete your task by , you are dead!"

we borrow stuff from people.. the stuff is theirs and we borrow it from them...

we lend stuff to people.. the stuff is ours and we loan it to them...

we live in that place = a sense of permanence...

we stay at that place = we're putting up there.. maybe temporarily..

the difference between live and stay is subtle Wink

oh. another... after "to", please please please please please use the present tense...

".. to go", "to stay", "to come"

and NOT "to went", "to stayed", "to came"

another wrongly used word is "send"...

when you "send someone home", you tell the person to go home.. you remain where you are while the person goes home...

if you are going with that person, you "fetch", you "accompany", you "escort"...
