Misc queries, need help~~

Hi Guys, need some advise as I'm a new car owner.

I'm driving a Kia Rio 1.5L auto, 1 week old...

1) What is the average fuel consumption for an 1.5L auto transmission car??

2) Is there and difference/recommendation between the different Octane petrol? 92-98

3) Is it normal to smell external exhaust when im enclosed inside the car and had turned the switch for external airflow into the car to off?
The smell is exceptional heavy when im behind alot of vechicle/truck that produce massive exhuast.

4) If it is not normal, anything I can do to rectify the problem?

1) no idea. ask those who drive a rio. about 10km/l is a safe minimum? but auto cars drink more than manual ones.
2) the price? 98 is more ex. but supposedly the car is slightly more powerful? or cleans the engine better.
3) how can that be normal? you ain't riding a bike.
