There's a very thin line between platonic relationship between
genders and BGR, once that line is crossed by either party and the
feelings aren't mutual, it might spell the end of the platonic
relationship between the genders, or even worse the
friendship.
As what you said, it does depends on individuals, especially how
comfortable the genders will be when facing each other when the
feelings aren't mutual, even if they chatted, they might be careful
with what to say to each other cos the platonic relationship is
stained.
